It was named for its proximity to Umagami Temple at the north of Mochou Lake, and constructed in early Qing Dynasty. Umagami is worshiped in Umagami Temple. The pavilion is in hexagonal two-layer wood-brick structure. In Kangxi's Mansion, it is recorded that: the handrails are installed near the river with high willows planted around; it is a place quiet and secluded for people on the way to take a rest. Qinhuai River inside the city joins Qinhuai River outside the city after going out of Xishui Pass, and then flows around Mochou Lake into the river from the east to the north. In the past, it was the key traffic post by river in Jinling, with hundreds of boats and lots of merchants gathering here, and the street was very noisy. It was reconstructed in 2010.
