Hua Yan, hehe. The name comes from the “Hua Yan Jing”, an ancient temple on the south bank of Mochou Lake. In the early years of Emperor Qianlong's reign, the abbot, Ruo Daocheng, had assembled the monks to practice here. The sound of wooden fish and chanting every day can be heard by water. In the fifty-eighth year of Emperor Qianlong (1793), Li Ningdong of Jiangning’s prefecture rebuilt Xi Yan. After the re-construction, there are dozens of temples in Huayan, the pavilions and towers, the green water and the fragrant, the scenery is suffocating, and the Shengqilou and Huxin Pavilion are also in the hustle and bustle. During the Daoguang period, the Yao people of the monk extended the construction of Hua Yan, and Hua Yan had a total of 48 temples. During the Xianfeng years, Hua Yan was destroyed in the war. In the three years of Tongzhi (1864), Zeng Guofan rebuilt it, and the time was not called "Miao Yan Yan." Scholar Zhang Wenhu often gathers with his friends in the shackles. Today, the construction of the Yanmen Gate is three wide, and the brick and wood structure was moved to the north of the scenic area in 1959.
Huayan is now a cultural relics protection unit in Jianye District
